Modular Mania

In Hypernode, each multi-instrument is referred to as a “style,” essentially representing a complete song structure, including sections like intro, chorus, verse, and more. You can customize any section, part, or sound within each style to suit your creative vision.

The system includes an accompaniment section where you can play up to three-note chords, a drum section, as well as additional elements like bass, pads, and harmony parts.

Hypernode comes packed with over 600 factory sounds (24-bit, 44kHz), ranging from keys and guitars to synth waveforms and hybrid sounds. Each of these sounds is fully editable, allowing you to fine-tune every aspect with filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects to achieve the perfect tone.

All instruments within Hypernode offer flexible sequencers, automation, and five freely assignable insert effect slots—with convolution reverb and more. You can even modulate the parameters of your insert effects in real time via the included sequencers!

The accompaniment module is a powerhouse, featuring 64 sequencers running simultaneously. Each sequencer can operate at its own pace, with up to 128 steps, and can function as a one-shot phrase if desired. The module also includes eight switchable patterns, resulting in an incredible 512 sequencing tables just for the accompaniment section alone!

Hypernode gives you the freedom and flexibility to create complex, dynamic arrangements with ease.

Accompaniment & Bass

The Accompaniment module is the core and most powerful feature of Hypernode, where the real magic happens. When you press multiple notes simultaneously (such as a three-note chord), the module comes to life, automatically sorting the notes from low to high and mapping them to the three built-in note sequencers (low, mid, and high) at the top section.

Each of the three note sections (low, mid, and high) in the Hypernode Accompaniment module includes several useful features. You can assign an output FX bus to each section, as well as activate the harmony hold function, which keeps the first note(s) pressed at the same pitch as long as the “H” button is held. Additionally, there’s a table loop button and a range of functions to modify and edit the current sequence, allowing you to quickly nudge the tables left or right, erase, or randomize them.

Each note section provides in-depth control over key parameters such as amplifier and filter envelopes, panning, volume, velocity to volume amount, filter cutoff, resonance, and filter type (which can sweep from lowpass to highpass). You can also adjust the filter envelope amount for further sound shaping. Sounds for each note section can be selected by category, such as Atonal, Wave(form), String, Wind, Pluck, and Voice. Each section can layer two sounds simultaneously, offering even more depth and flexibility in your compositions.

The Bass module is packed with 128 powerful, gritty electronic basslines, providing the perfect foundation for your compositions. As with all the other modules, it offers endless customization options, allowing you to fine-tune each sound to perfectly fit your creative vision.

Kick Drum & Percussion

The Hypernode Kick module serves as the driving force behind your creation, offering a dynamic, powerful kick sound. Powered by the same high-quality insert effects found in the other modules, it features a fully modeled sound engine with adjustable kick tuning, decay, pitch modulation, and 26 selectable click shapes and noise types for added realism.

In addition to the standard modulation tables, you can sequence up to three engine parameters simultaneously for each pattern, providing deep control and customization over your kick sounds.

The Hypernode Percussion module is equipped with five hybrid engines, each combining sampled sounds with acoustic modeling to deliver a vast range of dynamic percussion options.

  • Clap Engine: Features 26 different samples for the attack and decay of a modeled clap, along with a noise layer for added realism. A hand clap knob allows you to dial in sampled handclaps with 63 round robins, and all layers can be freely mixed and blended for complete control over the sound.
  • Cymbal Engine: Offers 26 samples for the splash and decay of a modeled cymbal, providing the flexibility to create a wide variety of cymbal sounds. This technique allows for an extensive palette of tonal options.
  • FX Engine: Includes 26 different tonal shapes that can be used to generate pitch sweeps, risers, and noise effects. You have full control over the pitch, cutoff, and volume, while two low-frequency oscillators enable precise shaping of the sound.
  • Snare Engine: Modeled after a physical snare drum, this engine allows you to blend tone and body noises with ease, giving you control over details such as the initial snap of the snare hit and the subsequent smash. It also includes a noise sample layer, enabling you to craft hybrid snare sounds. You can also create dampened snare or stick effects for added variety.
  • Tom Engine: Delivers modeled tom sounds with full control over the body (tone) and the “snap” (click) sound that occurs when you hit a tom with a stick. Additionally, noise samples can be blended in to transform and shape your tom sounds in unique ways.

This module offers deep customization and endless possibilities for creating organic, hybrid percussion sounds.

Lead Module

The Hypernode Lead Module houses all 600 Hypernode sounds and offers comprehensive control over various parameters, including volume, velocity-to-volume, panning, filter cutoff and resonance, filter types, and more. It also features an adjustable filter cutoff LFO and supports aftertouch vibrato. You have two envelopes for controlling volume and pitch modulation, as well as true mono legato and adjustable gliding speed. The module supports 8x unison and includes unique pitch-bending modes for added flexibility.

Almost all settings within the Lead Module can be stored in patterns, allowing for seamless changes between them. Each pattern can also feature its own distinct sound. Like the other modules, the Lead Module includes the same set of insertable effects units for further customization.

The Hypernode Harmony Module includes all the same 600 Hypernode sounds as the Lead Module, but with an additional functionality. It analyzes the chords pressed on the lower section of the keyboard and generates harmonizing voices to complement your melody. This feature is perfect for adding depth and richness to your lead sounds, allowing you to create fuller, more textured compositions.

Pad Module

The Hypernode Pad Module offers an impressive array of sounds, utilizing its dual layout to deliver dynamic and evolving textures. It provides full access to all 600 Hypernode sounds, along with a dedicated library of 128 pad-specific sounds, including sizzling pads, atmospheric textures, and ambient effects. With complete sequencing control over every parameter, you can quickly craft captivating sounds.

Each layer in the Pad Module offers in-depth control over effects, envelopes, and even a built-in LFO for modulating pitch, volume, or cutoff. Additionally, it features the same insertable effects units as the other modules, allowing you to further shape and refine each layer to suit your needs.
